ANNA NICHOLSON

Anna is an award-winning actor, character comedian and writer

In May 2023, she finished a 4-month tour of the USA and Canada performing in The Gruffalo playing the Fox, Owl and Snake. Her final run of this show will be at the Southbank Centre, London in June.

Anna is particularly skilled at writing and performing all age comedy and scripts for young audiences.

Last year, she wrote the Oxford Playhouse pantomime Cinderella which received rave reviews and became the Oxford Playhouse’s best-selling pantomime. She also performed on the UK tour of The Gruffalo (2022).

Anna co-wrote and starred in series one of children’s TV show The Adventures of the Juniper (2021), and was a sketch writer for BBC’s Crackerjack (2020). She was also short-listed for BBC’s Caroline Aherne Character Comedy Bursary.

Between 2018-2021 Anna wrote and performed two solo character comedy shows Woman of the Year and Get Happy. Her debut show was developed with Soho Theatre Young Company and BBC’s James Cary (Miranda, My Family). These shows toured the UK, enjoyed sold out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and were transferred to international festivals including New Zealand and Adelaide Fringe where she won a Best Comedy Award.

Anna is London-based, originally from Newcastle, and trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.
