ABBIE MURPHY

Abbie is an actor, comedian and writer.

When someone decides to perform an hour show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival made up of self-devised, self-written and self-performed material, it is a 12 month affair. Abbie Murphy went from decision to critically acclaimed comedy debut in just 6 gigs! With no prior comedy experience – just raw talent, funny bones and one ballsy leap of faith…

Girl On Fire won Best Act at Camden Solo Festival 2014 and her second hit show Have A Word was a finalist in the Amused Moose Comedy Awards 2015.

Returning to The Fringe in 2018 and 2019 with another two sell out shows. This time, a stand-up hour Eat Sleep Shit Shag and a sketch show Beg Borrow & Bitch with comedy partner Ricky Hunt, firmly secured her place on the comedy circuit as ‘one to watch’ (The List).

Abbie has enjoyed numerous acting and writing roles, including starring in the film David Brent: Life on the Road as Serena Wilson, directed by Ricky Gervais, and the Pokemon movie Detective Pikachu, playing the part of Cynthia McMaster alongside Ryan Reynolds, Bill Nighy and a whole host of huge names. Small screen credits include Channel 4 series CatastropheMiranda (BBC One), Bobby & Harriet Get Married (Viceland), and Pompidou (BBC).
