Ciaran Bartlett

Ciaran Bartlett started stand-up comedy in January 2010. Within a few months he had become a regular headline act in comedy clubs throughout the island of Ireland. Ciaran’s brand of ruthless musical comedy sets him apart from other acts, making him a firm favourite with audiences. He is a regular in Belfasts extremely popular Lavery’s Comedy Club and one of only a few comedians to have hosted the renowned Empire Laughs Back Comedy Club. In 2016 he sold out the Ulster Hall alongside a few of his best friends in comedy.

In terms of scripted comedy, Ciaran has writer, and performer, credits for Late Licence, Live at the Sunflower, all seasons of BBC Northern Ireland’s Tight Shorts, and the recent Soft Border Patrol. He recently created and wrote an entire sitcom series Homebirds, which was funded by and developed for RTE and NI Screen. He is currently developing a sitcom series with BBC Studios, and two drama series with Stellify Media.

Ciaran has appeared in several viral videos and advertising campaigns, accumulating millions of views online, mainly playing his ‘Ma’ and soccer legend Bunter Castles alongside Shane Todd’s soccer agent character, Keith Cruise. He has also starred in the title role of one stage play, Carol’s Crismuss, with a second appearance on the boards coming in this summer’s Here’s Me as part of the West Belfast Festival. He also writes crime novels.

Ciaran is a die hard Manchester United fan and an avid gamer, reader and musician.
